I never really noticed how hard it was to use yellow on my skin without it looking like I was sick. I used yellow as a blush and I don’t think you can even see it really. I did once use yellow and brown together for a Hufflepuff look and I really loved it so it sometimes does look ok on me. Well I hope you all enjoy it and my hair trials are coming soon 😀

Second is Yellow.
It represents youth, fun, happiness, sunshine and other light playful feelings. It is a cheerful energetic color. Yellow is often used for children’s toys and clothes. Though yellow is a bright cheerful color, as it starts to darken it, however, quickly becomes a dirty and unpleasant color. Yellow can also be associated with being scared and, cowards.

So I lied… I originally began this look fully intending to do some face charts for Oklahoma. Then once I got my foundation on and tried my new concealer, I was looking through my inspiration folder and saw this one picture and I wanted to recreate it. So once I did I remembered I had a lot of my grandmothers jewelry and I wanted to add some to the look so then it became this weird hybrid that I am calling Ice Princess. I hope you enjoy it! Side Note: when I was coming up for a look for my Citizen of Panem look, I googled Kabuki makeup since that’s where the makeup artist drew inspiration from. That’s how I found this photo.

Where on Earth have I been? Well this past week I’ve not been feeling the best so updates/looks have pretty much stopped. However this past Saturday (almost a week ago!) I had a photo shoot with my aunt. Yup, a full fledge makeup, outfit, location photo shoot! So I really wanted to portray a Citizen of the Capitol from The Hunger Games, but I wanted to go a tad more extreme then just makeup. So after trying to do this for weeks, I finally got a date planned and a look planned! I’m so excited to finally post these photos and share with everyone out there. Now this look started out as a random citizen, but once we started shooting we kept giving my aunt Effie references so this became a neo-Effie look. Had I known that when I started I would have tried to make her makeup look more like her at some point. So Enjoy!

Can I say how much I loved reading Effie Trinket’s parts in the book? She reminded me of a retroish Glinda. I love every photo I’ve seen of her because you never know what you’re going to see. I’ve seen several tutorials and looks of her pink Reaping Day look and the look for the “Color from the Capitol” nail polish campaign (pink shadow, paper lashes). However I didn’t see too many if any recreations of her teal top look. The colors are way more daring then the other looks so it takes several tried to get things to look right. I really love the way it came out and I think I took way to many photos (206) because I was loving the look and having an Effie-esque attitude. In the photos I’ve seen of her they cover her brows, but I’ve been having an issue lately with mine so I didn’t want to put them through any more stress. I hope you enjoy!

We’ve all seen the trailer clip, and if not, at least the picture of Katniss Everdeen being interviewed by Caesar wearing her red dress. Now the dress is amazing and one day I would love to recreate it. However I knew I could redo the makeup here and now…so I did :). There aren’t that many up close photos of her face, but from Ve Neil had said earlier they tried to keep her makeup simple to keep her looking young. In every photo though I noticed that they always added flare lashes to her so she would have more of an almond shape eye. I really love the way this came out, however I wish I had more daylight hours when I did it because some of the indoor photos really washed out the simpleness. Hope you all enjoy and if you haven’t seen the movie by now, what are you waiting for?
