Guess who needs to re-learn how to make an intro paragraph? I’ve noticed that over my last few posts my little intro blurb has been this huge bulky thing…I need to streamline. Anyway, I recently acquired two new shampoos and I did a little test with them to see which I liked best…I’m not sure I can decide yet!
Sulfate Free Shampoo Comparison (Drug Store)
The Details
- Purchased from:
- Walgreens & Sally’s Beauty Supply
- Price:
- $9.99 for Hair One & $7.50+$3.75 for Bioinfusion
Normally my hair is somewhat fuzzy. It’s not unruly, but there are more fly-aways than I would like. Sometimes it feels dry on the ends and I can tell that my hair gets drier near the ends because of the lack of oils. If I keep my hair down I can’t stand it. I feel like a lion. I didn’t think I was going to love these products so much so I didn’t take before photos but I tried to illustrate what my hair normally does below.
Bioinfusion
This was my first use of a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. Now the shampoo doesn’t smell wonderful. It’s not unbearable but it smells like wheat (which is one of the noted ingredients) so I wasn’t sure how to feel. The conditioner however smells like Heaven…I’m not sure what it is maybe the grape seed oil but I don’t really know. You use this as a normal shampoo and conditioner set, they just don’t foam up at all. So below are some photos of the after.

Hair One for Normal Hair
After the other product I was excited to try this one. It was the cucumber Hair One for normal hair. This sucker smells like a cheap face mask. Maybe it’s the cucumber in it, but I was so hesitant to use this because I didn’t want that smell staying in my hair. This is a shampoo and conditioner in one so you have to take different steps. Similar to the Wen product. Now I’ve never had to read the instructions on the products I’ve used this often. 5-10 pumps for the 1st step. Then 7-12 for the second, keep it on for 2-3 minutes. Finally if you want to leave 2 pumps in your hair as a leave in. Oh and use a comb to comb the second step through. But I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.

Results
For the smell, I love the Bioinfusion. For results they both work equally well, yet they both kept my hair clean for about 2 days. After the 3rd day began I noticed definite oil build up more than with Suave shampoos and conditioners.
Are these products sulfate free?
Yes. The Hair One product makes their big claim that they are. It’s a large part of the campaign. Bioinfusion is sulfate free as well, but it’s more of a side note, not the main selling point. Although I’m not sure what the main selling point of Bioinfusion is ;).
